Arrival from the airport to the Congress venue
Barcelona International Airport (BCN) is also known as El Prat de Llobregat Aeropuerto or Aeroport de Barcelona. Situated 13km South West of the city centre, it has 2 terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 which has 3 separate buildings called T2A, T2B and T2C. The distance between T2A and T2B at Barcelona Airport is approximately 5 minutes walk. The distance between T1 and T2 is 4km. There is a free airport shuttle bus to travel between T1 and T2. Barcelona airport facilities include car hire services, secure lockers, cash machines, tourist information office. • Taxi: A taxi is a convenient way to reach the city centre. From Terminal 2, the journey is 25-20 minutes, depending on the traffic and the cost is approximately 25 Euro. From Terminal 1 the taxi journey is approx. 30-35 minutes and the fare is around 30 Euro.
• Aerosbus A1 and A2: The airport Express bus service, or Aerobus, is an express bus service that travels regularly between the airport and city centre. The A1 Aerobus travels between T1 and the city centre (25-30 mins). The A2 Aerobus travels between T2 and the city centre (30-35 mins). The cost is 5.05 Euro for single journey and 8.65 Euro for return journey (ticket valid for 9 days).
• Trains: The RENFE train travels from Barcelona Airport to the city centre. You may change to the metro system at either of the following stations: Barcelona Sants (Sants Estacio) or Passeig de Gracia. A ticket costs 3 Euro and the journey lasts approx. 25 minutes. The train station is located at T2. If your flight lands at T1, you should take a shuttle bus to T2 train station.

Please register upon arrival in order to receive your kit containing the Congress Program Book and your personal name tag. Please remember to wear your name tag to all Congress activities and social events.

Welcome Reception
All registered participants are invited to the Welcome Reception, which will take place on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 18:30-20:00. Invitations are included in the personal registration kit.
 
Lunches
A buffet lunch will be served for participants of the Congress on both Friday, May 20, 2011 and Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 13:15-14:00. Please present your name tag at the entrance.
 
Speakers’ Preview Room
Speakers are invited to visit the Speakers’ Preview Room prior to their lecture and upload their presentation. Speakers should bring their slide presentations to be uploaded for their sessions no later than one break prior to the session in which they are scheduled. The Speakers’ Preview Room will be open during Congress hours as follows:

Poster Presentation
Poster presenters should plan to be beside their posters during the designated coffee breaks, as specified in the Timetable. Please see the Congress Secretariat for board allocation at the Congress. Posters should be mounted on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 16:00-18:30 and removed by 12:30 on Sunday, May 22, 2011. The Organizing Committee is not responsible for posters that are not removed on time.

CME Accreditation
Please note that you have your CME Accreditation Form in your Congress Kit. In order to receive your accreditation points, please submit the completed form to the Registration Desk before the end of the Congress. Your certificate will be sent to you directly.
 
C-Hep Feedback Form
Please note that you have a Feedback Form in your Congress Kit. We would greatly appreciate hearing your comments. Once completed, this form may be handed in to the Registration Desk.
 
Visas
EU citizens do not need a visa to enter Spain. Contact the Spanish embassy or consulate in your home city to confirm whether you require a visa to enter the country. Nationals of some countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland and USA do not require visas for stays up to 90 days.
 
Currency Exchange
The currency in Spain is the Euro. Spanish auto-banks allow anyone with a visa-based card to withdraw cash from their account. Bank ATM machines may add a 3% fee on foreign ATM withdrawals. You can also withdraw cash using most switch cards. Credit cards, including AMEX, are widely accepted in most of the high streets shops, restaurants and hotels. However many smaller restaurants and hostels still do not have credit card payment facilities. Notes can be found in 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500-euro denominations. Coins start with the 1-cent piece and end with the 2 euro piece.
 
Tipping
Tipping is not a requirement. However if you had good service a 5% to 10% tip would be considered polite.
 
Dress Code
Informal for all occasions.
 
Climate
May is a good time of year to visit Spain. Temperatures average 70°F (24°C) and the weather is usually sunny and warm.
